Applied Artificial Intelligence, Certificate of Achievement
The Applied Artificial Intelligence Certificate of Achievement provides students with practical skills to understand, apply, and critically evaluate AI tools across disciplines. Through three hands-on courses, students gain experience using AI for everyday productivity, software development, and interdisciplinary projects that address real-world challenges.
Because artificial intelligence is increasingly applied across disciplines, this certificate is intentionally designed to support students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. Electives emphasize diverse but complementary foundations in computation, ethics, communication, creativity, and scientific reasoning. The interdisciplinary nature ensures that students complete the certificate with skills aligned to their areas of interest, not limited to computer science and engineering.
Designed for both non-technical and technical learners, this certificate prepares students to responsibly use and adapt AI in academic, professional, and community settings. Graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to engage critically and creatively with artificial intelligence in their chosen fields.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Apply AI tools effectively and responsibly across multiple contexts, including everyday productivity, academic research, creative expression, and software development.
- Develop and evaluate AI-assisted solutions by integrating coding practices, interdisciplinary knowledge, and project-based learning to address real-world challenges.
- Analyze the ethical, social, and professional implications of AI with attention to issues of bias, equity, and accessibility, and articulate strategies for responsible use.
